The setting is an important part of any great movie. It adds specifics to the story, allowing the audience to enter another world. Sometimes – in the case of
The Lord of the Rings trilogy – it is in fact
literally another world. Other times, (for those of us not
wealthy enough to travel) it’s a place we’ve never been to. Either way, we thought it’d be interesting to take a look back at where the Best Picture winners throughout history had taken place. The following map details the location of each film. So put on your travel caps and journey back through Oscar history.
Note: We got as specific as the information provided in each film. For example, when we only were told the country and not the state, we detailed as much.
