Michael Moores Untitled Bailout Documentary Teaser Trailer
quick takeEveryone's favorite investigative documentary reporter is at it again. This time taking a more comedic approach.
The first teaser trailer has arrived online for Michael Moore's upcoming movie Cloverfield... uh, I mean... his as-of-yet currently untitled documentary. As you may know, this movie delves into the economic crisis, the U.S. federal bailout and what he calls "the biggest robbery in the history of this country". I'm looking forward to the film, although I'm starting to worry about the fact that he's trying way too hard to be funny and sarcastic about the whole thing. Don't get me wrong, I know his movies have always put entertainment first, but this is a topic where I actually feel like I want to learn something about it (assuming that's actually possible from a Michael Moore film).
The teaser doesn't show any actual footage from the movie, unfortunately; instead it just shows Moore talking to the audience and trying to play on people's anger surrounding the whole situation. The interesting thing is that in certain theatres, apparently they really had ushers coming down the aisles with a collection tin. He's pretty smart at picking topics where he can stand up for the common man, and I'll be curious to see how people react to this. Sicko was very well-received even after all the Fahrenheit 9/11 backlash (), and I think it's because he chose a great topic where it was easy to win over viewers. I suspect this could inspire a similar reaction. His new movie hits theatres on October 2nd... will you be there to check it out?
